Notice of Decision to Confirm Urgent Amendments to Acceptable Solutions C/AS1–AS7 and Verification Method C/VM2 and to Further Amend Acceptable Solutions C/AS1–AS7 and Verification Method C/VM2 for New Zealand Building Code Clauses C1–C6, and to Amend the Acceptable Solution BCH/AS1 for Back Country Huts and Where Reasons for the Urgent Decision May be Obtained

Urgent Changes to the Acceptable Solutions and Verification Method for Building Code Clauses C1–C6 Protection from Fire

Pursuant to sections 24(1), 29(5) and 30 of the Building Act 2004 (“the Act”), I give notice of a decision to confirm urgent amendments, revocation and replacements to the acceptable solutions and verification method for New Zealand Building Code clauses C1–C6 Protection from Fire (“urgent amendments”) that came into force on 19 December 2013.

The urgent amendments modified:

• Acceptable Solutions C/AS1–C/AS7
• Verification Method C/VM2

Further Proposed Amendments to Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods

Pursuant to section 24(1) of the Building Act 2004, I give notice that the following acceptable solutions and verification method are to be amended following consultation (“further amendments”):

Building Code Clauses C1–C6 Protection from Fire

• Acceptable Solutions C/AS1–AS7
• Verification Method C/VM2

Back Country Huts

• Acceptable Solution BCH/AS1

The further amendments come into force on 1 July 2014.
