Appointment to the Office of Film and Literature Classification

Pursuant to section 28(1)(b) of the Crown Entities Act 2004, and section 80(1) of the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993, the Governor-General of New Zealand has appointed to the Office of Film and Literature Classification

Andrew Robert Jack

as Chief Censor of Film and Literature for a term of three years commencing on 7 March 2014 and concluding on 6 March 2017.

Telecommunications Act 2001

Notification of Receipt of Pricing Applications for the Standard Terms Determination for the Designated Service of Chorus’ Unbundled Bitstream Access

The Commerce Commission (“Commission”) gives public notice, under section 44 of the Telecommunications Act 2001 (“Act”), that it has received applications for a review of the prices set for the regulated service Chorus’ unbundled bitstream access (“UBA”) under section 43 of the Act.

The prices for this service are regulated by the Commission’s Standard Terms Determination for the designated service Chorus’ unbundled bitstream access (Commerce Commission Decision 61, 12 December 2007) (“UBA STD”).

On 5 November 2012, the Commission released its Final determination to amend the price payable for the regulated service Chorus’ unbundled bitstream access made under s 30R of the Telecommunications Act 2001 [2013] NZCC 20.

In that decision, the Commission set prices for the basic UBA service and the enhanced UBA variants, and other core charges, to come into effect from 1 December 2014.

The Commission has received five applications from parties for a pricing review for the above-mentioned determination.

The parties are CallPlus Limited, Chorus New Zealand Limited, Orcon Limited, Telecom New Zealand Limited and Vodafone New Zealand Limited.

Parties are requested to comment on the matter by written notice to the Commission no later than 10 working days after receipt of this notification.

Under section 69P(4) of the Telecommunications Act 2001, the Commerce Commission (“Commission”) gives public notice of applications by the following companies to be added to the Register of Chorus’ non-retail users:

Land Transport Rule: Heavy-vehicle Brakes 2006

Approval of Brake Testing Device

Pursuant to subclause 10.6(1) of Land Transport Rule: Heavy-vehicle Brakes 2006, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the NZ Transport Agency, I, Stephen Arthur Bullôt, Senior Engineer, Operations Support, hereby approve the brake testing device specified in the Schedule to this notice for the purpose of measuring brake forces of heavy vehicles to establish compliance with the requirements for heavy-vehicle brakes contained in the Rule.
