Identifying Changes to Conservation Boards
I, Nick Smith, Minister of Conservation, gives notice as follows.

Pursuant to section 6L(1) of the Conservation Act 1987, I hereby establish the East Coast/Hawke’s Bay Conservation Board, with effect on 1 May 2014.

Pursuant to section 6L(2) of the Conservation Act 1987 and section 15 of the Interpretation Act 1999, I hereby rename the East Coast/Bay of Plenty Conservation Board as the Bay of Plenty Conservation Board, and the Wellington/Hawke’s Bay Conservation Board as the Wellington Conservation Board.

Pursuant to section 6L(3) of the Conservation Act 1987, I hereby advise that the areas of jurisdiction of each Board shall be as follows:
(a) The Wellington Conservation Board shall be aligned to the area of jurisdiction of the Manawatu Wairarapa and Wellington Conservation Partnerships Districts of the Department of Conservation;
(b) The East Coast/Hawke’s Bay Conservation Board shall be aligned to the area of jurisdiction of the East Coast and Hawke’s Bay Conservation Partnerships Districts of the Department of Conservation; and
(c) The Bay of Plenty Conservation Board shall be aligned to the area of jurisdiction of the Western Bay of Plenty, Rotorua and Eastern Bay of Plenty Conservation Partnerships Districts of the Department of Conservation.

Pursuant to section 15 of the Interpretation Act 1999, this notice replaces the notice dated the 16th day of June 2009 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 25 June 2009, No. 94, page 2107, which established the East Coast/Bay of Plenty and Wellington/Hawke’s Bay Conservation Boards.

Revocation of Notice of Direction to Appoint a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Rongomai School, Auckland (1468)
Under section 78M(7) of the Education Act 1989, with delegated authority from the Minister of Education, I hereby revoke the notice (as published in the New Zealand Gazette, 27 September 2012, No. 120, page 3415) appointing a limited statutory manager for the board of trustees of Rongomai School.
This notice takes effect on the day of publication.

Alternative Constitution for the Board of Trustees of Moerewa School (2103)
Pursuant to section 105A of the Education Act 1989, I hereby approve the following constitution for the board of trustees of Moerewa School:
The board of trustees of Moerewa School, Northland, will be made up of the following members:
- One elected parent representative;
- the Principal;
- one elected staff representative; and
- up to four ministerial appointed trustees.
The appointment of a trustee may be for a term not exceeding three years.
Sections 96, 97, 101, 104 and 105 of the Education Act 1989 will apply in respect of the board.
For the first election of a parent representative and staff representative, a returning officer will be appointed by the commissioner and will carry out the duties in accordance with the Education (School Trustee Elections) Regulations 2000.
All trustees will take office when the current commissioner’s appointment ends.
This notice shall come into force on the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Alternative Constitution for the Board of Trustees for Te Wainui a Rua School (559)

Pursuant to section 105A of the Education Act 1989 (“the Act”), I hereby approve the following constitution for the board of trustees of Te Wainui a Rua School.

The board of trustees of Te Wainui a Rua School will be made up of the following members:
- Two parent representatives, elected by the process set out in this notice;
- the principal;
- one staff representative, elected by the process set out in this notice;
- one trustee appointed by Te Atihaunui a Pāpārangi through Te Puna Mātauranga o Whanganui (Te Puna), the Whanganui Iwi Education Authority;
- up to two ministerial appointees;
- up to one trustee co-opted by the board.

The appointment of a trustee may be for a term not exceeding three years.

Sections 96, 101, 104 and 105 of the Act will apply in respect of the board.

For the first election, the nomination and election of parent representatives and the staff representative will be by way of hui managed by a returning officer appointed by the commissioner. The returning officer shall not be considered for selection as a parent representative and shall not be a teacher.
