Notice of Direction for the Disposition of the Surplus Assets of a Dissolved Incorporated Society

Pursuant to Section 27 of the Incorporated Societies Act 1908

Take notice that the Registrar of Incorporated Societies has directed that consequent on the dissolution on the 17th day of June 2004 of the above-named incorporated society, its surplus assets, being an estate in fee simple in all the land containing 1012 square metres, more or less, being certificate of title SA253/30, Section 23 Waimana Village (South Auckland Land Registration District), be vested in Te Waimana Kaaku Tribal Executive.

27 FEBRUARY 2014

This direction shall become final on 26 March 2014.

No appeal shall lie unless notice thereof is delivered before that date.

Pursuant to section 28(1)(b) and clause 1(2), Schedule 5 of the Crown Entities Act 2004, His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand has appointed

as a chairperson for a five-year term commencing on 1 March 2014 and expiring on 28 February 2019; and reappointed

Education Act 1989

New School Establishment Notice

Pursuant to section 146 of the Education Act 1989, I hereby establish a Year 1–8 primary school, to be known as West Rolleston Primary School, in Rolleston, Selwyn District.

The school will open for instruction for Year 1–4 students only from 2016, and will open for instruction for Year 5–8 students from 2017.

Pursuant to section 146 of the Education Act 1989, I hereby establish a Year 9–13 secondary school, to be known as Rolleston Secondary School, in Rolleston, Selwyn District.

The school will open for instruction for Year 9 students only from 2017, with further year levels added progressively each year.

Te Pā o Rākaihautū Establishment

Pursuant to sections 146 and 156 of the Education Act 1989, I hereby establish a designated character Year 1–13 co-educational school to be known as Te Pā o Rākaihautū, and designate the school as a designated character school, in Christchurch.

Te Pā o Rākaihautū will operate the following aims, purposes and objectives which will together constitute its designated character:

(a) Te Pā o Rākaihautū will provide a unique educational opportunity for the rohe of greater Christchurch by providing place-based curriculum for the 21st century founded on tikanga and Te Reo Māori, Te Ao Māori values, culture and history in a pā based setting. To this end it will require all staff and curriculum of the school to implement the aims, purposes and objectives set out in the school’s charter.

(b) The kaupapa of the school will be based on the tīpuna Rākaihautū, and built on traditional learning and teaching pedagogies adapted for 21st century learning, deeply anchoring learning in Te Wai Pounamu and reinforcing pā values.

(c) Te Pā o Rākaihautū will offer an education that is based on whole-of-whānau (whānaungatanga) principles.

(d) Te Pā o Rākaihautū will:
• Restore Māori teaching pedagogy, values, culture and identity as a foundation to educational success in a pā village environment that encourages the whole whānau to engage and participate in their own education.
• Reconnect our whānau with place, people and Papatūānuku (mother earth).
