Statement of Indemnity Given Under the Public Finance Act 1989

Pursuant to section 65ZD(3) of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance makes the following statement:

"On 26 May 2013, I, The Honourable Simon William English, Minister of Finance, on behalf of the Crown, gave an indemnity to the Auditor-General in relation to the costs of defending, paying damages or settling any claims brought against the Auditor-General in any court of law in the United States or Canada or their territories and/or protectorates associated with audit and assurance work in relation to any offer of shares in mixed ownership model companies to overseas investors undertaken in the Auditor-General’s name that cannot be met from insurance or other indemnity and liability arrangements."

Statement of Export Credit Office Guarantee Given Under the Public Finance Act 1989

Pursuant to section 65ZD(3) of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance makes the following statement:

"On 13 May 2013, the Deputy Secretary, Financial Operations and Head of NZDMO acting for and on behalf of the Honourable Bill English, Minister of Finance on behalf of the Crown, provided a New Zealand Export Credit Office Financing Guarantee to Westpac Banking Corporation in relation to letters of credit issued by an off-shore bank. The New Zealand Export Credit Office’s maximum guarantee liability is EUR 18,750,000. A premium, commensurate with the risk, will be paid for this Guarantee."

Telecommunications Act 2001

Notification of the Commerce Commission’s Final Telecommunications Development Levy Liability Allocation Determination for the Period Between 1 July 2011 and 30 June 2012

On 27 June 2013, the Commerce Commission, pursuant to section 87(1) of the Telecommunications Act 2001 ("the Act"), prepared a Final Liability Allocation Determination for the purpose of the Telecommunications Development Levy (TDL) for the period between 1 July 2011 and 30 June 2012.

Pursuant to sections 87(1)(b) and 6 of the Act, the Commission has given public notice of its TDL Final Liability Allocation Determination.
