Notice of the Electricity Industry Participation (Disclosure Obligations) Code Amendment 2013

1. Pursuant to section 38(3)(b) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010, the Electricity Authority (“Authority”) gives notice of the making of the Electricity Industry Participation (Disclosure Obligations) Code Amendment 2013.

2. The amendment comes into force on 1 October 2013.

3. The amendment updates and clarifies the obligations of participants in relation to making information readily available to the public if the information is likely to affect prices in the relevant markets.

4. A copy of the amendment and the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (“Code”) is available on the Authority’s website
   www.ea.govt.nz/act-code-regs/code-regs/the-code/

5. A copy of the amendment and the Code may also be inspected free of charge or purchased from the Electricity Authority, Level 7, ASB Bank Tower, 2 Hunter Street, Wellington.

Pursuant to section 47(3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, the Director of Maritime New Zealand hereby notifies the granting of the following exemptions:

• 1 from Maritime Rule 20.6 – Operating Limits – Assigning operating limits and operating within assigned limits – Owner and master of a ship are required to operate within assigned limits

• 2 from Maritime Rule 21.13(1)(b) – Safe Ship Management Systems – Entry to and conditions to be met in order for ship to remain in Safe Ship Management System – New Zealand Safe Ship Management Certificate issued by Director

• 1 from Maritime Rule 31A.7(1) – Crewing and Watchkeeping Unlimited Offshore, and Coastal (Non-fishing Vessels) – Minimum safe crewing – General requirements – Owner and master of a ship must not operate that ship unless there is on board at least the minimum number of crew holding necessary qualifications for watchkeeping, to operate ship safely and comply with the Minimum Safe Crewing Document
