Financial Service Providers (Registration and Dispute Resolution) Act 2008

Approval of Dispute Resolution Scheme

Following consideration of an application made under section 51 of the Financial Service Providers (Registration and Dispute Resolution) Act 2008 (“the Act”), and after consultation with the Minister of Finance, I give notice that I have granted approval under section 53 of the Act of the dispute resolution scheme called Dispute Resolution Services Limited established under the documents entitled Constitution of Dispute Resolution Services Limited dated 20 June 2011, the Dispute Resolution Services Limited Scheme Rules dated 8 March 2013 and the Terms of Reference of the Governing Body and Advisory Council of Dispute Resolution Services Limited dated 8 March 2013.

Dispute Resolution Services Limited has the purpose of promoting the long-term interests of consumers and financial service providers by providing a complaints resolution scheme, to which complaints may be made, free of charge, about financial services provided by any member and that is readily accessible to consumers.

Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011

Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Review Panel Recommendations on the Canterbury Earthquake (Education Legislation) Order 2013

Pursuant to section 73(6) of the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011 (“the Act”), the Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title—This notice is the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Review Panel Recommendations on the Canterbury Earthquake (Education Legislation) Order 2013.

2. Review Panel recommendation—The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Review Panel recommends to the Minister of Education and the Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery that the Canterbury Earthquake (Education Legislation) Order 2013 (version PCO 17327/1.0) be made without change.

Corrections Act 2004

Notification by the Minister of Corrections

Pursuant to Section 170 of the Corrections Act 2004:

Variation of Security Contract

Pursuant to section 170 of the Corrections Act 2004, I, The Honourable Anne Merrilyn Tolley, Minister of Corrections, hereby give notice that on 25 January 2013, the Chief Executive of the Department of Corrections and First Security Guard Services Limited (“First Security”) entered into Variation (No. 2) to the Agreement for the Provision of Prisoner Escort and Courtroom Custodial Services in the Northern Region (“security contract”).

Variation (No. 2) was deemed effective from 25 January 2013.

In summary, Variation (No. 2) varied this security contract by obliging First Security to provide courtroom custodial services during jury trials in new jury trial courtrooms at the Whangarei District Court and the Auckland District Court.

The contract price is varied to take into account these additional courtroom custodial services.
