Any written comment must be received by the Ministry for Primary Industries no later than 20 working days after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Consultation on this proposal to incorporate material by reference is in addition to the usual process of Consultation on the Draft Import Health Standards under sections 22–24D of the Act and Consultation on the Draft Craft Risk Management Standard under section 24F of the Act.

Fisheries (Coromandel Scallop Total Allowable Catch and Total Allowable Commercial Catch) Notice 2013

Pursuant to sections 13 and 20 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister for Primary Industries, after complying with sections 11, 12, 13 and 21 of that Act, gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title—This notice is the Fisheries (Coromandel Scallop Total Allowable Catch and Total Allowable Commercial Catch) Notice 2013.

  2. Commencement—This notice comes into force on 31 March 2013.

  3. Application—This notice applies on and from the first day of the fishing year starting on 1 April 2013.

  4. Total allowable catch
    (1) The total allowable catch for the quota management stock described in the Schedule is the amount stated in column 4 of the Schedule.
    (2) The Fisheries (Coromandel Scallop Total Allowable Catch) Notice 2002 (No. F210), (New Zealand Gazette, 14 February 2002, No. 14, page 436 – go986), is revoked.

  5. Total allowable commercial catch
    (1) The total allowable commercial catch for the quota management stock described in the Schedule is the amount stated in the column 5 of the Schedule.
    (2) The Fisheries (Coromandel Scallop Total Allowable Commercial Catch) Notice 2002 (No. F211), (New Zealand Gazette, 14 February 2002, No. 14, page 436 – go987), is revoked.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice comes into force on 31 March 2013. It sets the total allowable catch (TAC) and total allowable commercial catch (TACC) for Coromandel scallops as from 1 April 2013 as follows:

  • SCACS-TAC increased to 131 tonnes; TACC increased to 100 tonnes.
