Business, Innovation and Employment
Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988
Anti–dumping Duties: Notice that Anti–dumping Duties on Galvanised Wire From South Africa May Cease to Apply
Under section 14(9) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 (“the Act”), anti-dumping duties imposed on galvanised wire from South Africa will cease to apply to those goods on 18 August 2013, unless at that date the goods are subject to review under section 14(8) of the Act.
Any interested party that might request that the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment initiate a review before the cessation date referred to above, should be aware that positive evidence justifying the need for a review must be provided to the chief executive.
If an application is received which provides positive evidence justifying the need for a review, the chief executive must undertake and complete a review investigation within 180 days of initiation on whether the anti-dumping duties should continue to be applied.
Positive evidence justifying the need for a review would need to include reasons for believing that the expiration of anti-dumping duties would see the continuation or recurrence of dumping of galvanised wire from South Africa, and for believing that such dumping would be likely to cause the continuation or recurrence of material injury to the New Zealand industry producing galvanised wire. The reasons should be supported by evidence and not be based on mere allegations or assertions.
Further information is available from the Principal Advisor, Register Integrity and Trade Remedies, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, PO Box 1473, Wellington 1640. Facsimile: (04) 499 8508. Email: traderem@med.govt.nz
Signed at Wellington this 5th day of February 2013.

Notice of Initiation: Review of Anti-dumping Duty on Canned Peaches From South Africa
Pursuant to section 14(8) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988, and acting under delegated authority from the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, I have initiated a review of the imposition of anti-dumping duty in respect of the goods described in the Schedule to this notice (“the goods”).
This initiation follows the receipt of an application made by the New Zealand industry providing positive evidence justifying the need for a review.
Anti-dumping duty was imposed on the goods following a determination made on 1 August 1996.
The current rates of duty are the result of a reassessment published in the New Zealand Gazette, 21 February 2008.
