Electricity Industry Act 2010

Notice of the Electricity Industry Participation (Revocation of Standard Tariff Codes Requirement) Code Amendment 2013

1. Pursuant to section 38(3)(b) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 (“Act”), the Electricity Authority (“Authority”) gives notice of the making of the Electricity Industry Participation (Revocation of Standard Tariff Codes Requirement) Code Amendment 2013.

2. The amendment comes into force on 21 October 2013.

3. The amendment revokes the requirement for distributors to use standard tariff codes when changing a tariff rate, including by introducing or removing a tariff rate.

4. In accordance with section 39(3)(b) of the Act, the Authority is satisfied on reasonable grounds that there is widespread support for the amendment among the people likely to be affected by it. Therefore the Authority has neither prepared and publicised a regulatory statement, nor consulted on the amendment and a regulatory statement.

5. A copy of the amendment and the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 (“Code”) is available on the Authority’s website at

www.ea.govt.nz/act-code-regs/code-regs/

6. A copy of the amendment and the Code may also be inspected free of charge or purchased from the Electricity Authority, Level 7, ASB Bank Tower, 2 Hunter Street, Wellington.
