Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Claims Settlement Act 2012

Notice of an Altered Geographic Name for Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Treaty of Waitangi Settlement 2012

Pursuant to sections 50 and 51 of the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Claims Settlement Act 2012 ("the Settlement Act 2012"), the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa ("Board") hereby gives notice of an altered geographic name.

The Schedule below specifies the details of the altered geographic name; its geographic feature type; its description; and its former name.

The official geographic name took effect on 1 February 2013, being the date that the Settlement Act 2012 came into force.

Pursuant to section 52 of the Settlement Act 2012, the Board may, in future, agree to alter the official geographic name, as listed in the Schedule below, with the consent of the trustees of the Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei Trust.

Land Acquired for Road—State Highway 6, Peninsula Road, Frankton, Queenstown

Lakes District

Pursuant to section 114 of the Public Works Act 1981, and to a delegation from the Minister for Land Information, Paul Stephen Kelly, Land Information New Zealand, declares the land described in the Schedule to this notice to be road which, pursuant to section 5 of the Land Transport Management Act 2003, forms part of State Highway 6 and remains vested in the Crown on the date of publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

Pursuant to section 52(1) of the Public Works Act 1981, and to a delegation from the Minister for Land Information, Graham Roger Williams, Land Information New Zealand, declares that, sufficient agreements to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the Schedule to this notice be set apart for the purpose of railway, subject to the New Zealand Railways Corporation Act 1981, and to remain vested in Her Majesty The Queen on the date of publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
