3. The amendment adds a new exception to the requirement that Transpower must comply with the interconnection asset capacity and grid configuration requirements in clause 12.111 of the Code. The exception will apply if the HVDC link is configured in bipole in accordance with a commissioning plan or test plan.

4. The amendment also introduces data requirements to support the modelling of bipole configurations in the market systems.

5. The amendment will support the commissioning of the new HVDC link bipole control system.

6. In accordance with section 39(3)(a) of the Act, the Authority is satisfied on reasonable grounds that the nature of the amendment is technical and non-controversial. Therefore the Authority has neither prepared and publicised a regulatory statement, nor consulted on the amendment and a regulatory statement.

7. Copies of the amendment and the Code are available on the Authority’s website at www.ea.govt.nz/act-code-regs/code-regs/

2. The amendment comes into force on 26 September 2013.

2. Renewal of principal notice—Clause 1(3) of the Authorised Futures Dealers (iPredict Limited) Notice 2011* is amended by omitting "31 August 2013" and substituting "31 October 2013".
