Environmental Protection Authority

Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996

Notice of Approval of Code of Practice

Pursuant to section 79(5) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) advises that it approved in December 2011, the code of practice HSNOCOP 38 Version 2.0 In-situ Filling of LPG Cylinders.

Regulation 62(4)(c) of the Hazardous Substances (Compressed Gases) Regulations 2004 enables the Environmental Protection Authority to approve a code of practice for cylinders to be filled without requiring the cylinder to be weighed.

This code provides a means by which filling of cylinders by volume can be undertaken in-situ from a road tank wagon utilising an ullage or contents gauge.

This code can be inspected at the Wellington office of the Environmental Protection Authority, Level 1, BP House, 20 Customhouse Quay, Wellington, or can be downloaded from the website of the LPG Association of New Zealand Inc

Government Roading Powers Act 1989

Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2003

New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Amendment Bylaw 2012/1

Pursuant to section 61(3) of the Government Roading Powers Act 1989, and Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2003, the NZ Transport Agency hereby makes the following bylaw.

Bylaw

  1. Title and commencement—This bylaw may be cited as the New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Amendment Bylaw 2012/1 and will come into force 28 days after the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. Amendment—The New Zealand Transport Agency (Speed Limits on State Highways) Bylaw 2010/10* is hereby amended by:

(a) Replacing line 73 in Schedule 1 to read:

"Line No.: 73

Region: 2

SH No.: 1

Locality: Onewa Interchange to Gillies Avenue

Section of State Highway: SOUTHBOUND – from 45m south of the southern abutment of the Onepoto Stream Bridge to 430m north of the northern abutment of the Newmarket Viaduct.

Speed Limit (km/h): 80

(b) Replacing line 74 in Schedule 1 to read:

Locality: Gillies Avenue to Onewa Interchange

Section of State Highway: NORTHBOUND – from 240m north of the northern abutment of the Newmarket Viaduct through the Victoria Park Road Tunnel to 300m south of the southern abutment of the Onepoto Stream Bridge.

Speed Limit (km/h): 80

(c) Deleting line 75 in Schedule 1; and

(d) Deleting line 76 in Schedule 1.
