Student placement:

Student is attending an Activity Centre, Teen Parent Unit or Alternative Education placement.

Student has a demonstrated family or cultural affinity with a particular ethnic group and requires tuition in that language.

Short, modular courses do not qualify and the maximum period of dual tuition is for the remainder of the school year.

Student is on an approved cultural exchange in New Zealand, requires the subjects on return to the country that they are from, and the subject is not available in their New Zealand home school.

Dual tuition is not available in the registering school’s language/languages of instruction.

This gateway is to enable all schools with a Year 9–13 roll of less than 600 (excluding international fee-paying students) at the time of application to offer a broader and more balanced curriculum.
