Appointment of a District Court Judge

Pursuant to sections 5 and 28B of the District Courts Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General of New Zealand has been pleased to appoint

to be a District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction within New Zealand, and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part 2A of the District Courts Act 1947, commencing on 10 December 2012.

Animal Welfare Act 1999

Notice of Suspension of Code of Ethical Conduct (Valley Animal Research Centre) (Notice No. MPI 98)

I hereby give notice that, pursuant to section 96 of the Animal Welfare Act 1999, the code of ethical conduct approved for the Valley Animal Research Centre (Notice No. 1690, published in New Zealand Gazette, 12 August 2010, No. 99, page 2625) is suspended from the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette until further notice.

This suspension is made consequent to the code holder’s application under section 95(1) of the Animal Welfare Act 1999 as the holder is no longer carrying out research.
