Maraeroa A and B Blocks Claims Settlement Act 2012

Notice of Treaty of Waitangi Settlement Altered Geographic Names for Maraeroa A and B Blocks

Pursuant to section 54 of the Maraeroa A and B Blocks Claims Settlement Act 2012 ("the Settlement Act 2012"), the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa ("the Board") hereby gives notice of altered geographic names.

The Schedule below specifies the details of the altered geographic names; their geographic feature types; their descriptions; and their former names.

The official geographic names took effect on 31 July 2012, being the date that the Settlement Act 2012 came into effect.

Pursuant to section 55 of the Settlement Act 2012, the Board may, in the future, agree to alter any official geographic name, as listed in the Schedule below, with the consent of the trustees of the Maraeroa A and B Trust.

Mangaparuhou Stream Stream A small stream of approximately 2km sourced near the summit of Pureora within Pureora Forest Park, flowing generally south to join the Ongarue River. NZTopo50 BG35-Tihoi GR 284 292 to BG34-Piropiro GR 279 274. Altering a geographic name. Paruho Stream (recorded, not official)

Notice of Final Determinations to Alter Geographic Names

Pursuant to sections 19 and 21(2) of the New Zealand Geographic Board (Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa) Act 2008, the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa ("Board") hereby gives notice of the final determinations to alter existing geographic names.

The altered geographic names are now official geographic names and are specified in the first column of the Schedule below.

The geographic feature type that each altered geographic name relates to, is set out in the second column of the Schedule below.

The description of each altered geographic name is set out in the third column of the Schedule below.

The Board’s final determinations on these geographic names take effect on 8 November 2012.
