An applicant must have attended courses of instruction as follows:

(a) Within 14 months immediately before the date of application, courses or refresher courses in the following:

(i) safe working practices appropriate to the work of a line mechanic;

(ii) testing to ensure safety before beginning, during and after completion of that work; and

(iii) basic first aid.

(b) Within seven months immediately before the date of the application, a course or refresher course in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.

Recognition of Overseas Qualifications and Experience

The Electrical Workers Registration Board (“the Board”) has the responsibility for the registration and licensing of electrical workers in New Zealand.

Pursuant to section 85(1)(f) of the Electricity Act 1992 (as amended by the Electricity Amendment Act 2006), the Board hereby gives notice that the overseas qualifications, certificates, registrations and licences contained in the Policy and Procedures Manual titled “Recognition of Overseas Qualifications and Experience” (“the Manual”) are recognised to the extent set out in the Manual.

The Manual may be amended by the Board, from time to time, to reflect legislative and policy developments.

Further, where any amendments or changes to the relevant New Zealand legislation have come into force, but are not yet reflected in the Manual, any legislative references should be read, where necessary, as reference to their current equivalents.

Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Review Panel Recommendations on Canterbury Earthquake (Resource Management Act Port of Lyttelton Recovery) Order 2011

Pursuant to section 73(6) of the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Act 2011 (“the Act”), the Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title—This notice is the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Review Panel Recommendations on Canterbury Earthquake (Resource Management Act Port of Lyttelton Recovery) Order 2011.

2. Review Panel Recommendation—The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Review Panel made the following recommendation under section 73(3) of the Act to the Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery and the Minister for the Environment:

The Review Panel recommends that clause 7(3) of the draft Order be amended to include the Lyttelton-Mt Herbert Community Board. This will allow for the Community Board to be consulted by the Lyttelton Port Company and a summary of the Community Board’s views to be included in the application(s) made to the relevant consent authorities.

The Review Panel recommends to the Minister of Transport that the Orders be made.
