Redefining the Purpose and Persons or Class of Persons for Whose Use and Benefit the Māori Reservation is Set Apart

Pursuant to section 338(5)(d) of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, the purpose of the land described in the Schedule hereto, set apart as a Māori reservation by a notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 9 June 1977, No. 64, page 1616, is hereby redefined as being for the purpose of a marae, church site and burial ground for the common use and benefit of the descendants of Ngāti Rangiwhakaturia and Taitapu hapū.

Wellington Land District

All that piece of land situated in Block XIV Ikitara Survey District and described as follows:

0.8523 Rakautaua 1C as created by Partition Order of the Māori Land Court dated the 2nd day of April 1898.

Recommendation to Amend the Beneficiaries of a Māori Reservation

On the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the Māori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto was set apart as a Māori reservation by a notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 6 November 1975, No. 98, page 2447.

Pursuant to section 338(5)(d) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, the said reservation is known as Karioi Urupā and its purpose is amended to be a burial ground for the descendants of the original owners.

0.1340 Whakapoungakau No. 2D No. 2D No. 1A (church site) as described in Partition Order of the Māori Land Court dated the 30th day of May 1923 and being the land in Computer Freehold Register 309332.
