Maree Zinzley, Manager (Approvals Operations) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF), acting under delegated authority from the Director-General of MAF, gives notice, under section 14(1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 (“the Act”), that the following application has been made to register a trade name product under section 9(1) of the Act:

Active Ingredients and Concentrations:

Each syringe contains:

• Bismuth subnitrate 2.4g (in a long acting base)
• Also contains: Thyme oil 3%

Formulation Type: Intramammary suspension

General Use Claim: For the prevention of mastitis during the dry period in heifers and cows with individual somatic cell counts of less than 120,000 and 150,000 respectively, and the prevention of peri-calving mastitis in maiden heifers.

Any person may make a written submission to the director-general concerning this application.

Under sections 16 and 17 of the Act, a written submission:

(a) must state in full the reasons for making the submission; and

(b) may state any decision sought on that application; and

(c) must be received by the director-general no later than 30 working days after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Under section 18 of the Act, a copy of every submission will be forwarded to the applicant for the applicant’s information.

Declaration of Special Emergency (Notice No. 1708)

Pursuant to section 49B of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, I hereby declare an adverse event, the incursion of the West Indian drywood termite Cryptotermes brevis, found at Waikanae, to be a special emergency until 31 March 2021.

Notice of Urgent Amendment to Compliance Document B1 and to Materials Incorporated by Reference into Compliance Document B1 and Where They are Available for Inspection and Purchase

Urgent amendment to Compliance Document B1

Pursuant to sections 24(1) and 29(5) of the Building Act 2004 (“the Act”), I give notice of an urgent amendment to the compliance document for New Zealand Building Code clause B1 Structure (“Compliance Document B1”).

The amendment modifies the verification method for structure (“B1/VM1”) and the acceptable solutions for structure (“B1/AS1 and B1/AS3”) to take account of recent changes to the seismicity of the area contained within the boundaries of Christchurch City Council, the Selwyn District Council and the Waimakariri District Council (“the Canterbury Earthquake Region”).
