Revocation of the Reservation Over Part of a Reserve

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager for the Otago Conservancy of the Department of Conservation revokes the reservation over that part of the recreation reserve described in the Schedule, with the effect that the land is now Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act 1948.

Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993

Declaring Māori Freehold Land to be Included in a Māori Reservation

Pursuant to section 338(2) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby declared to be included in the existing Māori reservation in respect of the lands known as Wharekawa 5B North 5A 1 Block and Wharekawa 5B North No 3A Block, which were set apart for the purpose of a meeting house for members of the Ngāti Paoa and Ngāti Whanaunga tribes by notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 20 November 1969, No. 76, page 2342.

Notice Redefining the Beneficiaries of a Māori Reservation

On the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the Māori freehold land, being the Block referred to in the Schedule as set out in New Zealand Gazette, 27 February 1964, No. 10, page 279, was set aside as a Māori reservation.

Pursuant to section 338(5)(d) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, the persons or class of persons for whose use and benefit the reservation is made is hereby redefined to be for the common use and benefit of Ngāti Wairere.

Pursuant to section 338(4) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the Māori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby included in Taihoa Marae, being Hinewhaki West 2 Section 29, Hinewhaki West 2 Section 30 and Hinewhaki West 2 Section 31, and set apart as published in the New Zealand Gazette, 28 September 1939, No. 121, page 2590, for the common use of the Wairoa section of the Ngāti Kahungunu Māori tribe as a meeting place.

Pursuant to section 338(5)(a) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the Māori reservation, in respect of the land described in the Schedule hereto, is hereby excluded from the existing Māori reservation in respect of the land known as Horowhenua XIB 41A Subdivision 3, which was set aside for the purpose of a marae and meeting house for the common use and benefit of the members of the Ngāti Pareraukawa hapū of the Ngāti Raukawa tribe by notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 1 August 1974, No. 75, page 1618, and amended by notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 7 November 1996, No. 163, page 4303.
