Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992

Approval to Revoke Approved Code of Practice

Notice is given that the Minister of Labour has approved the revocation of two previous editions* of an approved code of practice pursuant to section 20(1)(b) of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992.

They are:

1. Approved Code of Practice for the Design, Manufacture, Supply, Safe Operation, Maintenance and Inspection of Cranes (first edition, published 2001).
2. Approved Code of Practice for the Design, Manufacture, Supply, Safe Operation, Maintenance and Inspection of Cranes (second edition, published 2007).

The Department of Labour has consulted with members of the crane industry and the public regarding the revocation of these codes.

The reason for the revocation is that the previous editions have been superseded by the third edition of the code (published in January 2010).
