The Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, in an instrument dated on the 31st day of May 2010, appointed Michael Richard Skerrett and Cyril Raymond Gilroy as Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the mātaitai reserve.
The appointment is for a term of five years.
The mātaitai reserve and appointment of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki take effect from 8 July 2010.
The Oreti Mātaitai Reserve includes all fisheries waters along Oreti Beach lying inside a line:
(a) commencing at a point on the mean high water mark (MHWM) at the Waimatuku River at 46°21.47'S and 168°08.98'E; then
(b) proceeding in a straight line generally in a south-easterly direction for approximately 1.5 nautical miles to a point 0.5 nautical miles offshore from MHWM at 46°22.79'S and 168°09.85'E; then
(c) proceeding generally in a south-easterly direction following that 0.5 nautical mile mark to a point offshore at 46°30.31'S and 168°15.60'E; then
(d) proceeding generally in a north-easterly direction to a point on the MHWM at the New River Estuary at 46°30.02'S and 168°16.50'E; and then
(e) proceeding along the MHWM to the point of commencement.
Commercial fishing within the mātaitai reserve is prohibited under Regulation 24(2) of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999.
The Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki may authorise any individual to take fish, aquatic life or seaweed for customary food gathering purposes from within the whole or any part of the mātaitai reserve.
No fishing for customary food gathering purposes may take place in the mātaitai reserve without authorisation from the Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki.

Notification of Horomamae Mātaitai Reserve and Appointment of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki (No. F545)
Pursuant to Regulation 22 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Fisheries gives the following notice:
Pursuant to Regulation 20, by a notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 10 June 2010, No. 64, page 1850, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture declared a mātaitai reserve over the fisheries waters to the north and northeast of Horomamae (Owen) Island, on the east side of Stewart Island.
The Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, in an instrument dated on the 31st day of May 2010, appointed Rodney Ryan, James Arthur Sinclair Ryan and Phillip Lindsay Ryan as Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the mātaitai reserve.
The appointment is for a term of five years.
The mātaitai reserve and appointment of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki take effect from 8 July 2010.
The Horomamae Mātaitai Reserve includes all New Zealand fisheries waters enclosed by a line:
(a) commencing on the north-west side of Horomamae Island on the mean high water mark (MHWM) at 47°07.38'S and 168°08.93'E; then
(b) proceeding in a straight line in a northerly direction to a point offshore at 47°07.10'S and 168°08.89'E; then
(c) proceeding in a straight line in an easterly direction to a point offshore at 47°07.08'S and 168°09.25'E; then
(d) proceeding in a straight line in a southerly direction to a point offshore at 47°07.35'S and 168°09.44'E; then
(e) proceeding in a straight line in a south-easterly direction to a point offshore at 47°07.43'S and 168°09.65'E; then
(f) proceeding in a straight line in a south-westerly direction to a point on the north-east side of Horomamae Island, on the MHWM at 47°07.47'S and 168°09.60'E; and then
(g) proceeding in a generally north-westerly direction along the MHWM to the point of commencement.

Pursuant to Regulation 22 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Fisheries gives the following notice:
Pursuant to Regulation 20, by a notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 10 June 2010, No. 64, page 1850, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture declared a mātaitai reserve over fisheries waters to the north and southwest of Pikomamaku (Womens Island), on the east side of Stewart Island.
The Minister of Fisheries and Aquulture, in an instrument dated on the 31st day of May 2010, appointed Graeme Metzger and Michael Stevens as Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for the mātaitai reserve.
The appointment is for a term of five years.
The mātaitai reserve and appointment of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki take effect on 8 July 2010.
The Pikomamaku Mātaitai Reserve consists of two separate areas described as follows:
Area 1: All that area of New Zealand fisheries waters enclosed by a line which at every point is along the mean high water mark (MHWM) and within the gulch way (channel) between the north side of Pikomamaku (Womens Island) and the adjacent islet. Area 1 is approximately 0.002 square kilometres (110 metres long and 30 metres wide at the widest point).
Area 2: All that area of New Zealand fisheries waters, approximately 0.04 square kilometres, along the south-west side of Pikomamaku enclosed by a line:
(a) commencing on the MHWM on the southern tip of Pikomamaku at 46°49.52'S and 168°14.69'E; then
