Antarctic Marine Living Resources Act 1981
Permits Authorising the Taking of Antarctic Marine Living Resources Notice 2010 (No. F530)
Pursuant to section 5(7) of the Antarctic Marine Living Resources Act 1981, the Minister of Fisheries gives the following notice.
Notice
- Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Permits Authorising the Taking of Antarctic Marine Living Resources Notice 2010.
(2) This notice shall come into effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
- Authorisation—I have granted permits to the following persons and/or companies authorising them to take Antarctic marine living resources within waters to which the Convention on the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) applies, subject to certain conditions as detailed in each individual permit.
(2) Each permit is valid for the period detailed in this notice and in the individual permit.

Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999
Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 4) 2010 (No. F534)
Pursuant to Regulation 9 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, the Deputy Chief Executive Fisheries Management at the Ministry of Fisheries (acting pursuant to a delegated authority in accordance with section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988) gives the following notice.
Notice
- Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 4) 2010.
(2) This notice shall come into effect on 28 May 2010.
- Interpretation—In this notice:
(a) "customary food-gathering" has the same meaning as defined in the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999.
(b) "Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki" means the person or persons appointed under Regulation 9 of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999 for the management of customary food-gathering within a freshwater area.
(c) "freshwater area" means an area centred on Wairewa and the catchment of Te Wairewa, and the hills and coast to the adjoining area/takiwā of Te Rūnanga o Koukourārata, Ōnuku Rūnanga and the Taumutu Rūnanga.

Nomination of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki—The Wairewa Rūnanga, representing the whānau and hapū of Ngāi Tahu Whānui holding manawhenua manamoana over the freshwater area (as represented by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu), has nominated John Boyles, Theo Bunker, Iaean Cranwell, Rei Simon, Robin Wybrow and Charlie Zimmerman for further terms as Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for managing customary food-gathering within the freshwater area.

Appointment of Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki—On 27 April 2010, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture appointed, under Regulation 9(5) of the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999, John Boyles, Theo Bunker, Iaean Cranwell, Rei Simon, Robin Wybrow and Charlie Zimmerman as Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki for managing customary food-gathering within the freshwater area for further five-year terms. The appointments will expire on 27 May 2015.

Power to authorise taking of fisheries resources for customary food gathering—The Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki may authorise any individual to take fisheries resources managed under the Fisheries Act 1996 for customary food-gathering purposes from within the whole or any part of the freshwater area for which they have been appointed.
