Acting District Court Judge Appointed

Pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint

Anne-Marie Josephine Bouchier, District Court Judge to be an Acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part 2A of the District Courts Act 1947, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to the said section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, for a term of two years on and from 2 October 2010.

Social Security Act 1964

Approval for Rural Assistance Under Special Needs Grants Programme

Under clauses 18.2 and 18.6 of the Special Needs Grants Programme (“the programme”), as established and approved on 18 December 1998* under section 124(1)(d) of the Social Security Act 1964, I give my approval for Part 6 of the programme to apply to as follows:

Rural Assistance – Farmers

  1. Farmers in the affected areas whose land-based industries are directly affected by drought are eligible to be considered for financial assistance under Part 6 of the programme.

  2. In relation to such farmers, Part 6 of the programme applies for the period beginning on 28 April 2010 and ending with the close of 30 September 2010, unless further extended by the Minister.

  3. In this approval, affected areas means the Great Barrier Island and the territories of the following local authorities:

Opotiki District Council
Whakatane District Council
Kawerau District Council
Rotorua District Council
Western Bay of Plenty District Council
Tauranga City Council
South Taranaki District Council
