Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005

Notice of End of Process for Making and Determining Victims’ Claims

Take notice that, pursuant to Part 2 (subpart 2) of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“the Act”), compensation awarded to Brendon Douglas Forrest was paid to the Secretary for Justice on 21 August 2009, and the surplus was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on 1 October 2009 on behalf of Brendon Douglas Forrest to enable any victims of that offender to make claims against it.

And that on 10 October 2009, notice was given by publication in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and on 8 October 2009 on the website of the Ministry of Justice, of the sum of money paid into the trust account, and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money and the manner to do so.

Under section 32(1)(b) of the Act, the Secretary for Justice has now paid out all of the money held in the trust account on behalf of Brendon Douglas Forrest.

Sentencing Act 2002

Order for Confiscation of Motor Vehicle

Pursuant to sections 128 and 129 of the Sentencing Act 2002, an order was made in the Blenheim District Court on 19 January 2010 for the confiscation of the following motor vehicle:

1988 Mitsubishi Galant MX, Registration No. SG3395.

Against: Darren James Fowke.

Anyone who has a legal interest in this vehicle should contact the Court urgently (telephone (03) 520 9250) as the Registrar may sell the vehicle.

This notice is placed pursuant to the Sentencing Regulations 2002.

Notice of Application to Register a Trade Name Product (Notice No. 207)

Pursuant to section 14(1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 (“the Act”), the Director-General of the New Zealand Food Safety Authority gives notice that the following application has been made to register a trade name product under section 9(1) of the Act:

Active Ingredients and Concentrations:

  • Calcium 28.2g (as Calcium Lactate Pentahydrate, Calcium Chloride Dihydrate and Calcium Levulinate Dihydrate)
  • Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) 0.02g

Formulation Type: Aqueous solution

General Use Claim: For the treatment of parturient paresis (milk fever) and as an aid in restoring normal appetite and blood glucose levels in cattle deficient in cobalt.

Any person may make a written submission to the director-general concerning this application. Under sections 16 and 17 of the Act, a written submission:

(a) must state in full the reasons for making the submission; and
(b) may state any decision sought on that application; and
(c) must be received by the director-general no later than 30 working days after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Under section 18 of the Act, a copy of every submission will be forwarded to the applicant for the applicant’s information.

Under clauses 18.2 and 18.6 of the Special Needs Grants Programme (“the programme”), as established and approved on 18 December 1998* under section 124(1)(d) of the Social Security Act 1964, I give my approval for Part 6 of the programme to apply as follows:

Rural Assistance – Farmers

  1. Farmers in the affected areas whose land-based industries are directly affected by drought are eligible to be considered for financial assistance under Part 6 of the programme.
