Notice of Application to Register a Trade Name Product (Notice No. 239)

Maree Zinzley, Senior Manager (Approvals Operations) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) (New Zealand Food Safety), acting under delegated authority from the Director-General of MAF, gives notice, under section 14(1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997 (“the Act”), that the following application has been made to register a trade name product under section 9(1) of the Act:

Trade Name: Sincocin
Reference: P008349

Active Ingredients and Concentrations:
Plant extract 5.6g/litre (derived from the tissues of Quercus falcate, Opuntia lindheimeri, Rhus aromatica and Rhizophoria mangle)

Formulation Type: Soluble concentrate (SL)
General Use Claim: A biologically derived agent for the suppression of plant parasitic nematodes and associated pathogens.

Any person may make a written submission to the director-general concerning this application. Under sections 16 and 17 of the Act, a written submission:

(a) must state in full the reasons for making the submission; and
(b) may state any decision sought on that application; and
(c) must be received by the director-general no later than 30 working days after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Under section 18 of the Act, a copy of every submission will be forwarded to the applicant for the applicant’s information.

Issue of Animal Welfare (Pigs) Code of Welfare 2010 (Notice No. 1694)

I hereby give notice that, under section 75 of the Animal Welfare Act 1999, the Animal Welfare (Pigs) Code of Welfare 2010 will be issued on 2 December 2010 and comes into effect on 3 December 2010.

I also give notice, under section 76 of the Animal Welfare Act 1999 that on 2 December 2010, the Animal Welfare (Pigs) Code of Welfare 2005 is revoked.

The code of welfare is available for inspection free of charge and for purchase at the following address:
