Approval for Rural Assistance Under the Special Needs Grants Programme
Under clauses 18.2 and 18.6 of the Special Needs Grants Programme, as established and approved on 18 December 1998* under section 124(1)(d) of the Social Security Act 1964 (the programme), I give my approval for Part 6 of the programme to apply as follows:
Rural Assistance – Farmers

Farmers in the affected areas whose land-based industries are directly affected by the storm in Southland on 17 or 18 September 2010 and following days are eligible to be considered for financial assistance under Part 6 of the programme.

In relation to such farmers, Part 6 of the programme applies for the period beginning on 11 October 2010 and ending with the close of 30 June 2011, unless further extended by the Minister.

In this approval, affected areas means the territories of the following local authorities:
- Clutha District Council
- Dunedin City Council
- Gore District Council
- Invercargill City Council
- Southland District Council

Notice of Intention to Consider Varying a Scheduled International Air Service Licence
Pursuant to section 87J(3) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, sections 41(1) and 42 of the State Sector Act 1988, and a delegation from the Secretary for Transport dated 6 November 2007, I give notice that having received an application from Air New Zealand Limited, the Minister of Transport intends to consider varying the Scheduled International Air Service Licence held by that airline in order to provide for:
-
in respect of Japan, the right to operate B777-300 aircraft and make some minor capacity adjustments in relation to services to Nagoya;
-
in respect of Niue, the right to operate one return service per week with any aircraft type rather than be restricted to the use of B737 aircraft only; and
-
in respect of the United Kingdom, the removal of a restriction that no longer applies on the airline’s right to carry passengers between the United States and the United Kingdom.
Any person wishing to make representations to the Minister of Transport relating to this application must forward those representations in writing to reach me at the Ministry of Transport, PO Box 3175, Wellington, on or before 12 November 2010.

Pursuant to section 200A(1) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994 and on the application of the Waikato Regional Council (Environment Waikato), I declare the World Rowing Championships 2010 to be an event to which section 200B of the Maritime Transport Act 1994 applies for the period 30 October 2010 to 7 November 2010 inclusive.

All the surface water of Lake Karapiro from the hydro dam south to the Keeley Reserve, the southern boundary being a line across the lake joining boundary points 175 35.026 S, 37 56.542 E and 175 35.051 S, 37 56.460 E.
