Land to be Set Apart for Forestry Purposes—Wilson Road, Franklin District

Pursuant to section 52(1)(d) of the Public Works Act 1981, and to a delegation from the Minister for Land Information, R. J. Sutherland, Land Information New Zealand, declares that the land described in the Schedule to this notice is hereby set apart for forestry purposes and that the land shall no longer be subject to the Crown Forest Assets Act 1989 and shall remain vested in the Crown on the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

Notice of Intention to Take Land for Housing in Waitakere City—29 Henderson Valley Road, Henderson

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with section 23(1)(b) of the Public Works Act 1981, that the Waitakere City Council (“the council”) proposes to take the land situated at 29 Henderson Valley Road, Henderson, Waitakere City (Computer Freehold Register NA71D/478), and more particularly described in the Schedule hereto (“the land”).

The land is required for housing purposes and it is intended to use the land for the redevelopment of Wilsher Village, Waitakere City Council’s housing for older adults development in Henderson.

The reasons why Waitakere City Council considers it is reasonably necessary to take this interest in the land described in the Schedule are:

Waitakere City Council’s housing for older adults development, Wilsher Village and land acquired by the council for the redevelopment of the village, surrounds the land intended to be taken and the land is required to enable the council to:

(a) pursue its strategy of providing affordable, healthy housing for older adults in reasonably close proximity to town centres (specifically Henderson);

(b) develop higher density housing complexes in close proximity to town centres and public transport;

(c) specifically redevelop and/or refurbish the Wilsher Village complex which has been identified as in particular need of upgrading.

The owner of the land and those persons with a registered interest in it have been served with notice of the council’s intention to take the land and of their right to object.

Any other person having a right to object to the proposed taking of the said land may forward a written objection to the Registrar, Environment Court, Department of Courts, Level 8, 3 Kingston Street (PO Box 7147), Wellesley Street, Auckland 1141, within 20 working days of the date of publication of this notice.

If any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing will be held.

The objector will have a right to appear and be heard personally unless the objector otherwise requires.

Each objector will be informed of the time and place of the hearing.
