And whereas, pursuant to section 442 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994 and section 73 of the Crown Entities Act 2004, Maritime New Zealand did delegate those powers under section 16 of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996 to the Director of Maritime New Zealand by an instrument of delegation dated 17 January 2008.

Therefore I, Catherine Taylor, Director of Maritime New Zealand, hereby appoint the following persons as protection officers for the purposes of the Submarine Cables and Pipelines Protection Act 1996:

Land Declared No Longer Required for Education Purposes

Public Works Act 1981

Authorising a Secondary Use of Land

Pursuant to section 191 of the Public Works Act 1981, the Minister of Defence:

(a) Authorises the application of the land described in the Schedule being land primarily held for buildings of the general government (defence purposes) to the secondary use of a scenic reserve under the Reserves Act 1977.

(b) Specifies that the following provisions of the Reserves Act 1977 shall apply to the land subject to any limitations referred to herein: Sections 19, 40A, 40B, 42, 49, 50, 51, 55, 93–99 inclusive, 101–106 inclusive and 118.

(c) Vests control in the Minister of Conservation.

Revocation of a Notice Relating to Authorising the Secondary Use of Land for a Reserve and Issue of Fresh Notice

Under section 55 of the Public Works Act 1981, and by reason of an error made in the notice described subsequently, the Minister of Defence revokes the notice authorising the secondary use of land for reserve dated the 26th day of January 1998 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 2 July 1998, No. 89, page 2036, and issues the following notice as a fresh notice in its place.

Road to be Stopped and Set Apart for Use in Connection With a Road (Segregation Strip)—

State Highway 1, Auckland–Waiwera Motorway, North Shore City

Pursuant to section 116 of the Public Works Act 1981, and to a delegation from the Minister for Land Information, Ronald Alistair Jolly, Land Information New Zealand, declares the portion of road adjoining or passing through the land described in the Schedule to this notice to be stopped and set apart for use in connection with a road (segregation strip) and to remain vested in the Crown on the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.
