• under section 83(1), by Order in Council, make Regulations adding to Schedule 2 of the Act (as a permanent exemption), and excluding from Schedule 3 of the Act the following provision: the Gas Act 1992 to the extent that it deals with LPG appliances not tested to operate safely on universal LPG and portable, unflued cabinet heaters that are designed for indoor use and that operate on LPG using LPG gas cylinders that are self-contained within the heater.

Under sections 82(2) and 83(2), I must not make such recommendations unless I am satisfied that no less than two-thirds of the participating jurisdictions have endorsed the terms of the proposed Regulations.

Education Act 1989

Notice of Direction to Appoint a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Tokoroa Central School (2035)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Tokoroa Central School Board of Trustees because of the risks to the operation of the school and educational performance of the students at the school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are to be vested in a limited statutory manager:

• All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise).

A limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:

• Ensuring areas for improvement identified in the current Education Review Office report are implemented.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that a supplementary integration agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, acting through the Group Manager, Regional Education, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietor of the following school:

Hillview Christian School, Christchurch.

The said supplementary integration agreement was executed on 9 March 2009.

A copy of the supplementary integration agreement is available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the regional office of the Ministry of Education, 39 Princess Street, Christchurch.

Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to Regulation 12(1)(d)(iii) of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 1 June 2007, which was granted under those Regulations to Linda Sutherland, in respect of Bowen Early Childhood Education Centre (60222), situated at Churchill Drive, Crofton Downs, Wellington.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
