Change of Rating—The National Mutual Life Association of Australasia Limited

On 9 November 2009, the insurer financial strength rating assigned to The National Mutual Life Association of Australasia Limited (incorporated in Victoria, Australia) (trading as AXA New Zealand) (“NMLA”) by Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services, under the Insurance Companies (Ratings and Inspections) Act 1994, was downgraded from “AA” to “A+”.

The Standard & Poor’s outlook for NMLA is stable and this reflects NMLA’s stand alone earnings profile and market position.

It also takes into account Standard & Poor’s expectations of a continued strong business and financial position amid stable and supportive life insurance fundamentals in the local markets.
