Burial and Cremation Act 1964
Closure of the Methodist Church Burial Ground, Coast Road, Wainuiomata
I, Graeme Richard Gillespie, Group Manager, Population Health Protection, Ministry of Health, acting under delegation from the Minister of Health, make the following directions under the Burial and Cremation Act 1964 (“the Act”):

Under section 41(1) of the Act, the denominational burial ground, being the land known as the Wainuiomata Pioneer Church Burial Ground, Wainuiomata, being the land described in the Schedule to this notice (“the burial ground”), shall be closed subject to the exception and qualifications set out in paragraph 2 below, and burials there shall be discontinued from and including 27 February 2010.

This closing order shall be subject to the following exception and qualification:
(a) That any person who has purchased a burial plot in the burial ground before 30 November 2008 may be buried in the ground;
(b) under section 44 of the Act, the control and management of the burial ground is vested in the Wainuiomata Pioneer Church Preservation Society Inc as from 27 February 2010.

Appointments to the Health Sponsorship Council
Pursuant to section 45(1) of the Smoke-free Environments Act 1990, and section 28(1)(a) of the Crown Entities Act 2004, and notice given under section 28(2) of the Crown Entities Act 2004, I appoint
Dame Susan Elizabeth Anne Devoy
as a member of the Health Sponsorship Council board.
Pursuant to clause 1(1) of Schedule 5 to the Crown Entities Act 2004, I also appoint
Dame Susan Elizabeth Anne Devoy
as deputy chairperson of the Health Sponsorship Council board.
Pursuant to section 45(1) of the Smoke-free Environments Act 1990, and section 28(1)(a) of the Crown Entities Act 2004, and notice given under section 28(2) of the Crown Entities Act 2004, I also appoint
Linda Harriet Thompson
as a member of the Health Sponsorship Council board.
These appointments commence on 10 August 2009 and expire on 31 July 2012.
