Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996

Notice of Approval of Code of Practice

Pursuant to section 79(5) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority advises that it approved on 20 July 2009, HSNOCP 35-1 the Code of Practice for the Transport and Transfer of Explosives.

This code of practice has been developed by HazKnow Limited to address the requirements for the transport of Class 1 explosives by road or rail and the transfer of these from one mode of transport to another.

This code is intended to provide a means of compliance with the requirements for the safe transport and transfer of Class 1 explosives specified in the:

  • Hazardous Substances (Classes 1 to 5 Controls) Regulations 2001; and
  • Hazardous Substances (Emergency Management) Regulations 2001.

Pursuant to section 80(1)(a) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, this code can be inspected at the Wellington office of ERMA New Zealand, Level 1, BP House, 20 Customhouse Quay, Wellington.

Industry Training Act 1992

REINZ Industry Training Organisation

Pursuant to section 8 of the Industry Training Act 1992, provisional recognition for the REINZ Industry Training Organisation has been granted for a period of 18 months, with effect from 24 June 2009 to 31 December 2010, to set standards at Levels 1–8 on the National Qualifications Framework for the real estate industry; being the appraisal, sale and purchase, letting and leasing, property management of commercial/industrial, residential and rural properties, and businesses; and body corporate services for commercial/industrial, residential and rural properties and businesses.

Funeral Service Training Trust of New Zealand

Pursuant to section 5 of the Industry Training Act 1992, full recognition for the Funeral Service Training Trust of New Zealand has been granted for a further period of five years, with effect from 24 June 2009 to 24 June 2014, to set standards at Levels 1–8 on the National Qualifications Framework for the funeral industry (defined as funeral directing and embalming).

Public Works Act 1981

Road Realignment—State Highway 3, Bell Block Bypass, New Plymouth District

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1981, and to a delegation from the Minister for Land Information, Stephen Robert Gilbert, Land Information New Zealand:

(a) Pursuant to section 114, declares the land described in the First Schedule to this notice to be road which, pursuant to section 88(2) of the Government Roading Powers Act 1989, becomes road, limited access road and State highway and shall vest in the Crown;

(b) Pursuant to section 20, declares that, pursuant to an agreement to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the Second Schedule to this notice is acquired for the functioning indirectly of a road (segregation strip) and shall vest in the Crown on the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.
