Land Transport Act 1998
Notification of Ordinary Rule
In accordance with section 161(2) of the Land Transport Act 1998, the NZ Transport Agency, on behalf of the Minister of Transport, gives notice of the Minister’s intention to make a Rule to amend Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Standards Compliance 2002 (Rule 35001/1) (“the Rule”).
The proposed amendment Rule, Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Standards Compliance (Whole of Vehicle Marking) Amendment 2009 (Rule 35001/5), will revoke paragraph 2.2(1)(o), the reference to the attachment of copies of VINs in subclause 2.2(3), subclause 4.4(2), subclause 6.3(1B) and the cross reference to this subclause in 6.3(2), and paragraph 11.7(1)(d) of the Rule. These provisions set out the requirements relating to the places on which, and manner in which, copies of a valid vehicle inspection number (VIN) are to be attached to new and used vehicles at border inspection or when first certified for entry into service in New Zealand.

Amendment to Transit New Zealand Bylaw 2005/7*
Maximum Speeds of Vehicles on State Highways
Pursuant to section 61(3) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989 and clause 2.6 of the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2003 (Rule 54001), NZ Transport Agency hereby amends the following bylaw.
Amendment

This amendment shall come into force 28 days after publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

The Transit New Zealand (Maximum Speeds of Vehicles on State Highways) Bylaw 2005/7* is hereby amended by:
• Replacing line 473 in Schedule 3 to read:
"Transit NZ Region: 10

Locality: St Andrews, Blenheim
From (RP): 28/1.61 To (RP): 28/3.66
Distance from nearest Road/Feature:
From 50m south-east of Lybster Street to 640m south-east of Alabama Road.

These bylaw amendments as made by resolution passed at a meeting of NZ Transport Agency held in Auckland on 26 November 2008.
