Conservation

Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978

Application to Film Marine Mammals

Pursuant to section 5(5) of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, the Minister of Conservation notifies that he received an application from Stephen J. Hudson on 19 November 2008 to film marine mammals underwater as well as with a pole camera.

The filming is proposed to occur throughout New Zealand’s waters for use in wildlife documentaries.

This activity has the potential to disturb marine mammals and therefore will require a permit.

A copy of the application can be obtained from the Department of Conservation, Aquatic & Threats Unit, PO Box 10420, Wellington 6143.

Any person wishing to make a submission on this application can do so by writing to the Manager, Aquatic & Threats Unit, Department of Conservation, PO Box 10420, Wellington 6143, within 28 days after publication of this notice.

Unless a person making a submission states to the contrary in the submission, that person will be deemed to give his/her consent to the release, under the Official Information Act 1982, of all the information in the submission.

Supplementary Integration Agreement

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that a supplementary integration agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, acting through the Group Manager, Regional Education, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietor of the following school:

Francis Douglas Memorial College, New Plymouth.

The said supplementary integration agreement was executed on 5 January 2009.

A copy of the supplementary integration agreement is available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the office of the Ministry of Education, 93 Ingestre Street, Wanganui.

Burial and Cremation Act 1964

Closure of Raithby Burial Ground—North Loburn, Canterbury

Graeme Richard Gillespie, Group Manager, Population Health Protection Group, acting under delegation from the Minister of Health, makes the following direction under the Burial and Cremation Act 1964 ("the Act"):

Under section 41(1) of the Act, the burial ground known as the Raithby Burial Ground, North Loburn, Canterbury, being the land described in the Schedule to this notice, shall be closed and burials there shall be discontinued from and including 8 June 2009.
