Electricity Governance Regulations 2003

Electricity Governance Regulations (Exemption No. 83 (Reconciliation Manager)) Exemption Notice 2008

Pursuant to Regulation 194(2) of the Electricity Governance Regulations 2003, the Electricity Commission (“Commission”) gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Electricity Governance Regulations (Exemption No. 83 (Reconciliation Manager)) Exemption Notice 2008.
    (2) This notice comes into force on 5 June 2008.

  2. Exemption—The reconciliation manager (“RM”) is exempted from compliance with the requirement to calculate the unaccounted for electricity (“UFE”) for each balancing area using the definition of QICPD-LA set out in Rule 8.1 of Schedule J4 of Part J of the Electricity Governance Rules 2003 (“Rules”).

  3. Terms and conditions—This exemption is granted on the following conditions:
    (a) The RM will calculate the UFE for each balancing area, in accordance with Rule 8.1 of Schedule J4 of Part J of the Rules, using the following definition of QICPD-LA:
    “all electricity supplied to consumers connected to the balancing area, being the sum of the consumption parts of submission information, adjusted for losses and ICP days.”; and
    (b) it will expire on 30 April 2009.

  4. Reasons for granting the exemption—The reasons for granting this exemption are:
    (a) This exemption will correct an identified error in the Rules;
    (b) the RM will be unable to comply strictly with the requirements of the Rules; and
    (c) the granting of this exemption will not affect any other rules.
