Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996

Notice of Intention to Apply for Approval of Code of Practice

Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that it intends to apply for approval of the Code of Practice for Outdoor Pyrotechnic Displays.

This code has been developed by the Environmental Risk Management Authority and sets out a means of compliance with the requirements of the Hazardous Substances (Classes 1 to 5 Controls) Regulations 2001 (as amended), in particular Regulations 35–43 which relate to the management of Class 1G substances for use in outdoor pyrotechnic displays.
