Pursuant to section 15 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice is hereby given of the final decisions of the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa to assign new or alter existing or remove existing place names, stated in the first column of the Schedule below, to the places described in the second column of the said Schedule, and that such decisions take effect on 15 May 2008.

North Auckland Land District

Waimangō Point

Coastal point on the north-western shores of the Firth of Thames, topographic map 260-S11 Waiheke, GR 136 656. Spelling alteration from Waimangu Point.

Waimangō Stream

Stream flowing generally north-easterly into the Firth of Thames at Waimangō Point, topographic map 260-S11 Waiheke, source: GR 100 612, confluence: GR 135 656. Spelling alteration from Waimangu Stream.

Kaitiaki Peak

Peak at height 2222m, located in the Mount Cook Range above Ball Pass, topographic map 260-H36 Aoraki/Mount Cook, GR 804 252. Not named on current map.

Pulpit Rock

Isolated and prominent rock formation, 3km west of the locality of French Farm at the north-west inner reaches of Akaroa Harbour, topographic map 260-N36&N37 Akaroa, GR 997 132. Not named on current map.

Rocky Gully River

River flowing generally north-easterly into the Tengawai River, near Albury, topographic maps 260-J38 Geraldine, 260-J39&K39 Timaru, and 260-I39 Kirkliston, source from the Hunters Hills on 260-I39: GR 296 453, confluence on 260-J38: GR 417 609. River not named on current map. Gorge currently named Rocky Gully.

Lake Gibb

Matthies Creek
