Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996

Notice of Intention to Apply for Approval of Code of Practice

Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (“HSNO Act”), the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that Peggemma Properties intends to apply for the approval of a Code of Practice for Explosives Approved Handlers for Land Blasting Operations.

This code has been produced to provide more specific qualification criteria for approved handlers involved in land blasting operations.

On approval of this code of practice, it is intended that HSNO COP 5-1, Approved Handler Certificates Explosives, will be revised to remove the references to land operations in sections 2 and 3.5.

Notice of Intention to Apply for Approval of Code of Practice

Pursuant to section 79 of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that it intends to apply for approval of the Code of Practice for Flammable Gases and Oxygen Tank Wagons.

This code has been developed by the Environmental Risk Management Authority and sets out a means of compliance with the requirements of the Hazardous Substances (Tank Wagons and Transportable Containers) Regulations 2004 (as amended), Regulations 6–29, 32–37 and 42, in respect of tank wagons that are used for the bulk transport of flammable gases and oxygen.
