Notice of Publication of Financial Statements of the Crown

Pursuant to section 31B of the Public Finance Act 1989, the Minister of Finance gives notice of the publication of the financial statements of the Crown for:

• the seven months ended 31 January 2008, on 6 March 2008.

Copies of these financial statements are available:

• for inspection free of charge at the National Library of New Zealand, Auckland City Library, Wellington Public Library and Canterbury Public Library;
• for purchase at branches of Bennetts bookshops; and

Telecommunications Act 2001

Notification of Call for a Standard Terms Proposal From Telecom for Subloop Services Under the Telecommunications Act 2001

Pursuant to section 30F of the Telecommunications Act 2001 (“the Act”), the Commerce Commission (“Commission”) gives public notice that it has given a written notice to Telecom Corporation of New Zealand Limited requiring it to submit a standardised terms proposal in respect of the following designated access services described in subpart 1, Part 2 of Schedule 1 of the Act as:

(a) “Telecom’s unbundled copper local loop network” as it relates to the connection of subloops between and end user’s building (or building distribution frame) to the handover point in a distribution cabinet (or equivalent facility);

(b) “Telecom’s unbundled local loop network co-location” as it relates to the provision of co-location facilities for an access seeker’s equipment, and access to the handover point at Telecom’s distribution cabinet (or equivalent facility) for purposes of providing access to, and interconnection with, Telecom’s unbundled copper local loop network (including any necessary supporting equipment); and

(c) “Telecom’s unbundled copper local loop network backhaul” (distribution cabinet to telephone exchange).

According to the notice, Telecom must submit to the Commission a standard terms proposal in respect of the designated access services set out above by 27 June 2008.

Electricity Governance Regulations 2003

Electricity Governance Regulations (Exemption No. 49 (Distributors)) Exemption Notice 2008

Pursuant to Regulation 194(2) of the Electricity Governance Regulations 2003, the Electricity Commission gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Electricity Governance Regulations (Exemption No. 49 (Distributors)) Exemption Notice 2008.

(2) This notice comes into force on 20 March 2008.

2. Exemption—All distributors, as defined in Part A of the Electricity Governance Rules 2003 (“Rules”), are exempted from compliance with Rules 5 and 6 of Part E of the Rules.

3. Term—This exemption will expire on 14 April 2008.

4. Reason for granting the exemption—The reason for granting this exemption is:

• In order to comply with the migration plan and populate the new systems in preparation for the new registry and reconciliation manager systems, distributors will not be able to comply with the requirements of these rules.

Pursuant to Regulation 194(2) of the Electricity Governance Regulations 2003, the Electricity Commission gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Electricity Governance Regulations (Exemption No. 50 (Retailers)) Exemption Notice 2008.

(2) This notice comes into force on 20 March 2008.

2. Exemption—All retailers, as defined in Part A of the Electricity Governance Rules 2003 (“Rules”), are exempted from compliance with Rule 10 of Part E of the Rules.
