Amendment to the Constitution of Te Mana Whakahaere (Council) of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa Te Kuratini o Ngā Waka 2007
Pursuant to section 170 of the Education Act 1989, the Minister for Tertiary Education gives the following notice.
Notice

This notice may be cited as the Amendment to the Constitution of Te Mana Whakahaere (Council) of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa Te Kuratini o Ngā Waka 2007 and will come into force on the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

The constitution of the Council of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa Te Kuratini o Ngā Waka shall be composed as follows:
(a) Four members appointed by the Minister for Tertiary Education.
(b) The Pouhere (Chief Executive Officer) of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
(c) One permanent member of the academic staff of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa elected by the permanent members of that staff.
(d) One permanent member of the general staff of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa elected by the permanent members of that staff.
(e) At least one but no more than two persons who are or who have been students of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa (the increase to two to be at the discretion of the council). The term of office for the student representative(s) will be one year and the representative(s) shall be elected from time to time by one rohe of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa and the right to elect shall fall to each rohe on a two year rotational basis in the order that the first letter of the rohe name falls in the Māori alphabet.
(f) One person appointed by the Council of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa after consultation with Business New Zealand.
(g) One person appointed by the Council of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa after consultation with the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions.
(h) One person appointed by the council as kaumātua of Te Mana Whakahaere (Council) of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
(i) One member appointed by the council on the nomination of Kingi Tuheitia.
(j) No more than five persons co-opted by the council with regard to iwi representation, the specific needs of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, its unique character, and the gender, ethnic and socio-economic composition of the community served by Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.

Subject to section 173 of the Education Act 1989, the maximum term for any member, other than the chief executive officer, shall be five four-year terms.

The notice constituting the Constitution of Te Mana Whakahaere (Council) of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa Te Kuratini o Nga Waka 2005, New Zealand Gazette, 20 October 2005, No. 177, page 4497, is revoked.

Amendment to Transit New Zealand Bylaw 2005/7*
Maximum Speeds of Vehicles on State Highways
Pursuant to section 61(3) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989 and clause 2.6 of the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2003 (Rule 54001), Transit New Zealand hereby amends the following bylaw.
Amendments

These amendments shall come into force 28 days after publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

The Transit New Zealand (Maximum Speeds of Vehicles on State Highways) Bylaw 2005/7* is hereby amended by:
(a) Replacing line 93 in Schedule 3 to read:
"Transit NZ Region: 2

Distance from nearest Road/Feature:
270m east of Caribbean Drive to Albany Highway.
Speed Restriction (km/h): 80

(b) Deleting line 94 in Schedule 3:

(c) Inserting a new line 95 (a) in Schedule 3 to read:

These bylaw amendments as made by resolutions passed at a meeting of Transit New Zealand held in Wellington on the 7th day of February 2008.
