Auckland Fire Districts Notice, December 2008

Under section 26 of the Fire Service Act 1975, the New Zealand Fire Service Commission gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice is the Auckland Fire Districts Notice, December 2008.

  2. This notice comes into force on the day of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  3. This notice revokes and is in substitution for all previous fire district notices for the districts listed in the Schedule.

Constitution of Fire Districts

(a) The urban areas listed in the Schedule are constituted as fire districts.

(b) The boundaries of the fire districts as listed are defined and delineated on plans held at the National Headquarters, New Zealand Fire Service, Wellington.

Government Roading Powers Act 1989

*Amendments to New Zealand Transport Agency Bylaw 2002/17—Bylaw Regulating Heavy Motor Vehicle Traffic on State Highways**

Pursuant to section 61(3) of the Government Roading Powers Act 1989, the New Zealand Transport Agency hereby amends the following bylaw.

Amendments

  1. These amendments shall come into force at 12.00 midnight on Saturday, 24 January 2009.

  2. The New Zealand Roading Agency Bylaw (Regulating Heavy Motor Vehicle Traffic on State Highways) 2002/17* is hereby amended by:

(a) Deleting clause 4(a);

(b) Replacing clauses 4(b)(i), 4(b)(ii) and 4(b)(iii) to read:

(i) providing an emergency service on a road, or part of a road, specified in the Third Schedule, or in the immediate vicinity of that road or part of that road; or

(ii) the provision or maintenance of a network utility work on or in a road or part of a road, specified in the Third Schedule, or in the immediate vicinity of that road, or part of that road, provided that the provision or maintenance of that network utility is undertaken by a network utility operator as defined in section 166 of the Resource Management Act 1991; or

(iii) delivering or collecting people and/or goods to or from a property with frontage to a road or part of a road specified in the Third Schedule to this bylaw.

(c) Deleting the Second Schedule, including clauses 6 and 7.

These bylaw amendments were made by resolution passed at a meeting of the New Zealand Transport Agency held in Wellington on 31 October 2008.

Land Transport Act 1998

Notification of Ordinary Rule

Pursuant to section 161(3) of the Land Transport Act 1998, notification is hereby given of the making of Land Transport (Driver Licensing) Amendment Rule (No 2) 2008 (Rule 91001/5).

The objective of this amendment Rule is to make changes to the Land Transport (Driver Licensing) Rule 1999 (Rule 91001) to update:

• the definitions of the classes of driver licence, by allowing larger tractors to be driven on a Class 1 licence, subject to conditions (with effect from 15 January 2009);

• the lists of countries from which holders of an overseas driver licence or permit are not required to sit a theory test for a Class 1 or Class 6 licence, or a practical driving test, when converting their licence to a New Zealand licence, by adding Japan (with effect from 1 April 2009).

The amendment Rule is available for inspection free of charge at the National Office of the NZ Transport Agency, PSIS House, 20 Ballance Street, Wellington, and for purchase from selected bookshops that sell legislation or direct from Legislation Direct, telephone (04) 568 0005.
