The notice of direction to appoint a limited statutory manager for the board of trustees of Papatawa School (published in the New Zealand Gazette, 6 September 2007, No. 98, page 2614) is hereby revoked under section 78M(7) of the Education Act 1989.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of its publication.

Amendment of Notice of Direction to Appoint a Limited Statutory Manager for the Board of Trustees of Potaka School (2649)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I hereby amend the notice dated the 8th day of August 2006 and published in New Zealand Gazette, 17 August 2006, No. 97, page 2869, regarding the direction to appoint a limited statutory manager for the Potaka School Board of Trustees.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in a limited statutory manager:

● All functions, powers and duties of the board as an employer (whether statutory or otherwise).

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication.

Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998

Recognition of First Aid Qualifications in Early Childhood Centres

Pursuant to Regulations 25(3) and 38 of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, the Secretary for Education hereby recognises all first aid qualifications arising from courses that:

(a) are delivered by a New Zealand Qualifications Authority accredited first aid training provider; and

(b) meet the minimum requirements of Unit Standard 6400 (or any successor to that Unit Standard); and

(c) are evidenced by a certificate issued by the trainer that is valid for a period of up to two years following qualification; and

(d) require an eight-hour refresher course every two years to maintain the certificate as current.

This notice does not revoke any previous notices issued pursuant to the above-mentioned regulations, and shall come into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to Regulation 12(1)(b) of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 19 April 2007, which was granted under those Regulations to Gary Burr in respect of Lloyd Elsmore Pool Childcare Centre (25270), situated at Sir Lloyd Drive, Pakuranga, Auckland.

This cancellation also has the effect of cancelling any provisional licence issued to this service.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Pursuant to Regulation 12(1)(d)(i) of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 19 September 2007, which was granted under those Regulations to Craig Millar in respect of St. Andrews Preschool Centre (10226), situated at 150 Great South Road, Manurewa, Auckland.

This cancellation also has the effect of cancelling any provisional licence issued to this service.
