Notice of Approval of Code of Practice

Pursuant to section 79(5) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996, the Environmental Risk Management Authority advises that it approved on 24 October 2008, a code of practice for the control and safe use of fumigants.

This code has been produced by the Pest Management Association of New Zealand (Inc).

Parts One and Two of this code provide a means of compliance with the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Regulations and transfer notices, for fumigants listed in the Hazardous Substances (Fumigants) Transfer Notice 2004.

Part Three provides a summary of requirements under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 and other legislation, which has been endorsed by the authority.

The document provides a means of compliance against current legislation.

It does not change or override the current Hazardous Substances and New Organisms legislation, nor does it cover fumigants that are not listed in the Hazardous Substances (Fumigants) Transfer Notice 2004.

This code can be inspected at the Wellington office of ERMA New Zealand, Level 1, BP House, 20 Customhouse Quay, Wellington, or can be purchased from the Pest Management Association of New Zealand (Inc).

Māori Affairs Restructuring Act 1989

Māori Land Development Notice

Pursuant to section 21 of the Māori Affairs Restructuring Act 1989, the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Māori Development gives notice as follows.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as Māori Land Development Notice, Rotorua 2008, No. 4.

  2. The notice referred to in the First Schedule hereto is, in relation to the piece of land described in the Second Schedule hereto, hereby revoked.

  3. The land described in the Second Schedule hereto is hereby released from the provisions of Part II of the Māori Affairs Restructuring Act 1989.

Land Act 1948

Reservation of Land

Under the Land Act 1948, the Conservator of the Bay of Plenty Conservancy of the Department of Conservation sets apart the land described in the Schedule as a scenic reserve, subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977.
