Conservation Act 1987
Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes
Under section 7 of the Conservation Act 1987, the Conservator for the Canterbury Conservancy of the Department of Conservation and the Commissioner of Crown Lands, acting under a delegation from the Minister for Land Information being the Minister responsible for the department of the State that has control of the land described in the Schedule, jointly declare that the land is held for conservation purposes.

Declaring That Land is a Reserve
Under the Conservation Act 1987, the Community Relations Manager, West Coast Conservancy of the Department of Conservation, notifies that the following resolution was passed by the Westland District Council on 17 July 2008:
“That in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 14 of the Reserves Act 1977, the Westland District Council hereby resolves that the piece of land held by it in fee simple in Computer Freehold Register WS2B/374 and known as Preston’s Bush, shall be declared to be a recreation reserve within the meaning of the said Act.”

Under the Land Act 1948, the Conservator of the East Coast Hawke’s Bay Conservancy of the Department of Conservation sets apart the land described in the Schedule as a recreation reserve subject to the provisions of the Reserves Act 1977.
