Notification of Ordinary Rules
In accordance with section 34(2) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notice is hereby given that the Minister for Transport Safety signed the following ordinary Civil Aviation Rules on 16 September 2008 which will come into force on the following dates:

The purpose of these ordinary rules is to ensure that the design, maintenance, and promulgation of instrument flight procedures intended for use by aircraft operating under instrument flight rules meets or exceeds the International Civil Aviation Organisation standards and recommended practices for instrument flight procedures, and to prescribe requirements for instrument flight procedures to be given legal effect for use in New Zealand.

Electricity Industry Reform Act 1998
Notice of Revocation

In Decisions 384, 517 and 547, the Commerce Commission (\"Commission\"), pursuant to section 81(1) of the Electricity Industry Reform Act 1998 (\"EIR Act\"), exempted Joan Withers, Dr Keith Turner and Wayne Boyd from the application of section 17 of the EIR Act in relation to a prohibited cross-involvement in an electricity supply business (Meridian Energy Limited) and an electricity lines business (Auckland International Airport Limited). These exemptions were subject to a condition that Meridian Energy Limited not enter into any kind of contract or arrangement with Auckland International Airport Limited that related to the use of Auckland International Airport Limited’s electricity distribution network whilst the exempt persons remained cross-involved.

Joan Withers, Dr Keith Turner and Wayne Boyd have now confirmed that these cross-involvements no longer exist and the exemptions are no longer required. Meridian Energy Limited requests that it be released from its restrictions on operating on Auckland International Airport Limited’s electricity network.

The Commission, pursuant to section 81(5) of the Electricity Industry Reform Act 1998, revokes the exemptions granted to Joan Withers, Dr Keith Turner and Wayne Boyd in Decisions 384, 517 and 547 (respectively).

The revocation takes effect from the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.
