Notice of Amendment to Compliance Document C Fire Safety and Where Material Incorporated by Reference is Available for Inspection and Purchase, and of Amendment to Compliance Document F7 Warning Systems

The following notice, issued by the Department of Building and Housing (“DBH”), is to be read in conjunction with the DBH notice (go6278) published in the New Zealand Gazette, 28 August 2008, No. 133, page 3482.

Further to that notice (go6278) and pursuant to section 24(1) of the Building Act 2004 (“the Act”), I give notice of an amendment to the compliance documents for New Zealand Building Code clauses C Fire Safety (“Compliance Document C”) and F7 Warning Systems (“Compliance Document F7”), which are available for download free of charge from the DBH website at

New materials incorporated by reference

Gazette Notice go6278 erroneously referred to AS 1530.7:2007 as being incorporated by reference.

Pursuant to sections 405 and 410(1)(e) of the Building Act 2004 (“the Act”), only the following material will be incorporated by reference into the Compliance Document C, effective on 1 November 2008:

Amendment 1 of AS/NZS 1221:1997

Amendment to material incorporated by reference

Pursuant to sections 406(c)(ii) and 410(1)(e) of the Act, I give notice that the material previously incorporated by reference into Compliance Document C and Compliance Document F7, as set out in Column 1 below, will be replaced by the material in Column 2:

The changes to material incorporated by reference set out in Column 2 and other amendment set out in Gazette Notice go6278 will take effect in the amended Compliance Document C and Compliance Document F7 on 1 November 2008.

Materials incorporated by reference are available for inspection free of charge at the DBH national office, Level 6, 86 Customhouse Quay, Wellington, between the hours of 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
