Notice of Variation of a Scheduled International Air Service Licence

Further to a notice published in the New Zealand Gazette,
22 May 2008, No. 87, page 2380, and pursuant to section 87J(6) of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, sections 28, 29, 41 and 42 of the State Sector Act 1988, a delegation from the Minister of Transport dated 27 November 2007 and a sub-delegation from the Secretary for Transport dated 6 December 2007, I give notice that having received an application from Air New Zealand Limited, the Minister of Transport has varied the scheduled international air service licence held by that airline to provide for:

• in respect of Australia, the right to operate domestically within Australia;
• in respect of Canada, the right to operate four return services per week;
• in respect of China, the right to operate seven return combination services per week; and
• in respect of Vanuatu, the right to operate two return services per week.

The variation took effect from 1 July 2008.

Notice of Recommendation Concerning the Proposed Electricity Governance (Security of Supply) Regulations 2008

1. This notice of a recommendation concerning the proposed Electricity Governance (Security of Supply) Regulations 2008 is issued by the Electricity Commission

("Commission") pursuant to section 172E(2)(c) of the Electricity Act 1992 ("Act").

Recommended Regulations

2. On 26 June 2008, the Commission recommended to the Minister of Energy that the Electricity Governance (Security of Supply) Regulations 2008 be made.

3. The purpose of the Regulations is to provide for the management and coordination of outages for security of electricity supply purposes.

4. The Commission has recommended that these Regulations be made under urgency in reliance on section 172E(3) of the Act.
