Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996
Notice of Approval of Code of Practice
Pursuant to section 79(5) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (“HSNO Act”), the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that it has approved the Approved Handler Certificates Explosives as a code of practice under the HSNO Act.
This code is a means of compliance with clauses 5(1)(a), 5(1)(b), 5(1)(c), 5(1)(d), 5(1)(e), 5(1)(g), 5(1)(h), 5(1)(i) and 5(2) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (Personnel Qualifications) Regulations 2001.
This code has been developed by Peggemma Properties Co. Limited, for use in their training courses for land blasting operations using explosives and sets out a practical means for meeting the performance requirements for training to achieve compliance in respect of being an approved handler for agricultural land blasting operations.
This code can be inspected at the Wellington office of ERMA New Zealand, Level 1, BP House, 20 Customhouse Quay, Wellington, and will be available from the ERMA New Zealand website

Notice of Approval of a Code of Practice
Pursuant to section 79(5) of the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 (“HSNO Act”), the Environmental Risk Management Authority gives notice that it has approved the Hazardous Substances Separation – Locations as a code of practice under the HSNO Act.
This code is a means of compliance with Regulations 21, 76, 95 and 117 of the Hazardous Substances (Classes 1 to 5 Controls) Regulations 2001.
This code has been developed by HSNO Resources Limited and sets out the separation requirements between incompatible substances.
This code can be inspected at the Wellington office of ERMA New Zealand, Level 1, BP House, 20 Customhouse Quay, Wellington, and will be available from HSNO Resources Limited, PO Box 898, Cambridge.

Notice of Approval of Code of Practice

This code is a means of compliance with Regulation 12 of the Hazardous Substances (Classes 1 to 5 Controls) Regulations 2001.
This code has been developed by the Aviation Security Service in conjunction with the New Zealand Police and the New Zealand Customs Service and sets out the minimum levels of practice for the management of explosives samples for training of explosive detector dogs.
This code can be inspected at the Wellington office of ERMA New Zealand, Level 1, BP House, 20 Customhouse Quay, Wellington, and will be available from the New Zealand Aviation Security Service.

Land Transport Rule: Heavy-vehicle Brakes 2006
Approval of Computer Software
Pursuant to sub-clause 10.6(8) of Land Transport Rule: Heavy-vehicle Brakes 2006 (“the Rule”), and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport, I, Bruce Hamilton Currie, Senior Vehicle Engineer, hereby approve the computer software specified in Schedule 1 of this notice for the purpose of demonstrating compliance with the requirements in Schedule 5 of the Rule, subject to the condition in Schedule 2.
Schedule 1 – the software to be approved
Title: “NZ BRAKE CODE SOFTWARE”
Version: VERSION 5.3 of 25/2/94
Schedule 2 – the conditions of the approval
The software is only approved for the period 1 July 2008 to 31 July 2008 (inclusive).

Marine Protection Amendment Rules 2008: Control of Pollution by Noxious Liquid Substances in Bulk MARPOL Revised Annex II
The rule amendments come into force on 4 August 2008.
