Land Transport Act 1998

Notification of Ordinary Rules

Pursuant to section 161(3) of the Land Transport Act 1998
("the Act"), notification is hereby given of the making of
two Rules: Land Transport Rule: Operator Licensing 2007
and Land Transport Rule: Work Time and Logbooks 2007.

These Rules come into force on 1 October 2007.

Land Transport Rule: Operator Licensing 2007 sets out
the requirements for obtaining and retaining a licence
to operate a passenger, rental, vehicle recovery or
goods service. It also contains requirements that apply
to transport service drivers (including "dial-a-driver"
service drivers), hirers of rental service vehicles and
approved taxi organisations.

Land Transport Rule: Work Time and Logbooks 2007 sets
out how the work time hours as prescribed by the Act are
to be administered in respect of the drivers of vehicles
that require a Class 2, 3, 4 or 5 licence or are used in a
transport service (other than a rental service), or are
vehicles used to carry goods for hire or reward.

The Rules are available for inspection free of charge at the
National Office of Land Transport New Zealand, 7 Waterloo
Quay, Wellington, and for purchase from July 2007 at
bookshops that sell legislation or direct from Wickliffe
Limited, PO Box 932, Dunedin, or freephone 0800 226 440.

Rules are also available on the Land Transport New Zealand

Maritime Transport Act 1994

Notice of Exemption From Maritime Rules

24B.10(2) and 24B.10(3)

I, John Norman Keith Mansell, General Manager, Maritime
Operations, Maritime New Zealand, pursuant to sections
47(2)(b)(iii) and 47(2)(c) of the Maritime Transport Act
1994, and acting under delegated authority, hereby give
notice as follows:

The masters of ro-ro ships and shippers of road freight,
road tank and road livestock vehicles are exempt
from the requirements of Maritime Rules 24B.10(2) and
24B.10(3) in respect of the following vehicles:

(a) road freight, road tank and road livestock semi-trailers
(with or without tractor units); and

(b) road freight, road tank and road livestock vehicles
which are being freighted for delivery without
payload.

This exemption is valid until 30 June 2009.

Corrigendum—Including Māori Freehold Land in

a Māori Reservation

In the Schedule of the Māori Reservation notice published in
the New Zealand Gazette, 28 June 1990, No. 106, page 2238,
in respect of

Section 3, Block I, Karangahape Survey District,

the land should be included in

Māori Reservation Waihaha No 3E No 2.
